Educational History:

1968—graduated from Atlanta High School, Texas

1972—undergraduate degree from East Texas State University (now TAMU-Commerce)

1977—graduate degree from University of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg, MS


Degrees and Certifications:

Bachelor of Arts in English and Spanish, 1972

Lifetime Provisional Teaching Certificate, grades 7-12 in Spanish and English

Master of Science in Community Counseling, 1977


Professional Development:

Studied at Universidad Ibero-Americano in Mexico City while working on my bachelor degree.


Current Position:

Began teaching Spanish at Avinger School in August 2016.  I will also help with elementary reading tutorials this year.

Previous Position:

Taught at Atlanta High School 2009-2016; at Queen City High School 1999-2009; at Liberty-Eylau High School April 1998-1999.  My first four years of teaching were 1972-1976.  The years in between teaching were spent in various counseling settings.

Personal Information:

I love to read, listen to nearly any kind of music (but not opera), solve crossword puzzles, and keep up with my nieces and nephew.
