Avinger ISD is committed to the health and physical development of our students. The mission of the Avinger ISD School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) is to encourage healthy behavior, to all students in AISD, grades K-12, that they will have healthy minds and bodies through health education programs, early intervention and prevention strategies and modeling of good healthy behaviors.
Avinger ISD adheres strictly to our policy to ensure that grades K-12, participation in at least 30 minutes/day or 135 minutes/week of physical activity.
Avinger ISD has adopted and enforces policies regarding vending machines. (FFA Local)
Avinger ISD has also adopted and strictly enforces policies and procedures regarding penalties for the use of tobacco products on school campuses or at school-sponsored/related activities. (FNCD and GKA)
